There are 8 Starbucks in Richmond. I would guess that means there are about 25 coffee shops in Richmond, plus plenty of restaurants that offer espresso.
Coffee was probably first consumed in Ethiopia and other parts of Africa in the 9th century. It arrived in America during colonization and became popular after Britain put high taxes on tea.
I prefer dark roasts. Taste is individual.
There are an unlimited number of types available in the US. Just look at your local grocery store. Mine has probably 50 types of beans available at all times and they change with the seasons. And this is not a specialty coffee shop!
