You may not think that small kitchen appliances should be given much thought when it is time to purchase a new one because they are smaller and generally inexpensive in comparison to major home appliances, which are generally larger and static in that they can not be moved all that easily such as fridge- freezers and cookers.
But small appliances are very important as they give the finishing touches to your kitchen and are things that you probably use the most. And not all small kitchen appliances are the same. With the rise in such clever technology over the last couple of decades there is a great deal of choice. There are still standard appliances available that do exactly what they say on the tin, but some small kitchen appliances have some rather clever features to make your life little bit easier- maybe even luxurious.
For example, Siemens' Porsche Design kettle is cordless, saving you space and keeping counter tops clutter free, but it also includes a range of safety features. The kettle automatically switches off when removed from its base, automatically switches off when boiling is complete and has a safety locking lid so it can not open when pouring and scold your hands. Boiling water can be very dangerous and with most accidents occurring inside the home, the kitchen is somewhere that you do not want to be cutting corners.
But kettles are pretty regular as far as small kitchen appliances go. For real luxury, why not invest in something a bit more novel such as an ice- cream maker or a coffee machine? For real luxury De-Dietrich's fully automatic integrated coffee machine will give you that real coffee aroma throughout your home. It has a maximum volume of 2 litres and can hold 300g of coffee beans. It has a coffee bean holder and grinder and is touch control with a cool blue light to give your kitchen a modern glow, fitting in especially well with a contemporary glossy black or stainless steel themed kitchen. But luxury does not come cheap and although this is a top of the range specification coffee machine, it will set you back by over £1100, depending on where you buy from.
So what can you get for a bit less? Well, if you look at the other end of the spectrum, you can still get a nice looking small kitchen appliance that has plenty of features. The Whirlpool built in coffee machine costs just under £400, which is a far friendlier price tag if you are a bit strapped for cash. The water tank capacity is slightly lower that De- Dietrich's at 1.5 litres and it only takes ground coffee and pods, not beans. It is also slightly more compact and is only semi- automatic compared to De-Dietrich's fully automatic option. This small kitchen appliance is made from stainless steel which means that it is easy to clean and looks sleek and modern and there is a good £700 shaved off of the price tag to boot.
Of course, both manufacturers offer alternative coffee machines of varying specifications and prices and you should have a look at all of them carefully before deciding on which one is right for you.

Coffee maker cuisine? What kinds of food can you make with a coffee maker?
I already know the obvious, ramen, mac & cheese, vegetables, oatmeal, soup, pasta, rice, hot cocoa.. coffee obviously, I heard that you can make pancakes on the warmer part, but I've looked all through what Mr. Google says and can find very little information on the topic. Does anyone else know what you can make? And I know i could just get a hotplate, but I'm moving around and want to find that one small appliance that can do anything, and I believe the coffee maker is it!

In line with Strong Vend’s new energy efficiency policy, the bean to cup coffee machine and automatic vending supplier has introduced a new environmental management system to reduce its carbon footprint.
LONDON, UK- The new environmental system, which will be integrated across every aspect of Strong Vend’s operation, aims to reduce the environmental impact Strong Vend’s business activities have on the Earth whilst saving money, which can, in turn, be ploughed into more energy-saving initiatives and strategies.
The new system’s core aims are as follows:
· Pollution Prevention – Cutting pollution across all areas of business active
· Fostering Recycling – Introduce recycling systems both in office and throughout Strong Vend’s warehouse.

The bean to cup coffee machine specialist aims to meet the following targets over the next year:

Finally, all Strong Vend staff will undergo a programme of in-house energy efficiency training to highlight how, through diligence, individual team members can make a difference:
· By switching off computer monitors at the end of the day, not just leaving them on stand-by.
· By shutting off lights and taking a few moments to check all monitors are switched off in the event of being the last team member in the office at the end of the day
· By ensuring paper and card, metal and plastics are separated from food items and are placed into in-office recycling bins rather than thrown away with general waste
· By, where possible, sharing lifts to and from work (or carpooling)

They say once you go gourmet coffee, you never go back. While most people are pretty much content with their instant three-in-one coffee, an experience with the best roasts are surely going to impact your viewpoint on the whole coffee culture. Gourmet coffee is also all about the culture. How do you prefer your brew? Considered to be the best method is the French coffee press, but it is for those who have a lot of time on their hands. Recently there have appeared on the market bean to cup machines which incorporate a canister of powdered milk for those who do not want the inconvenience of fresh milk, although this is a trade off with sacrificing overall drink quality.
Bean to cup machines are big business. There are now a large number of manufacturers of bean to cup machines and the number is growing all the time.
It is best to choose a model from a manufacture that they have been producing for a number of years so that any initial problems have long since been ironed out. Now is not the time to be a guinea pig with a brand new model however fantastic it may seem.
Most manufacturers produce a series of models with different functions and features suitable for low, medium and high volume coffee production.
This is where you pays your money and takes your choice!
Machines are available with one, two, three or even four bean hoppers. This gives extra capacity for busy periods and / or the option of a decaffeinated coffee.
Auditing facilities are also available on the top models where information about the drinks served over any given period can be obtained and maybe downloaded onto a computer for later analysis.
Digital displays, visual looks should also be considered before making your final choice. Note that many of the top models are available in a choice of colours to match the decor of the establishment.
However as already mentioned the two most important things to establish are that the machine can cope with expected demand and that it has a built in milk frother. All other features can be considered secondary.
Before contacting a potential supplier make sure you have decided which size and what features you would like from your machine with reference to this report. That way you will not be persuaded to upgrade or pay for things you do not really require.
Don't forget to pay particular attention to the servicing costs and water treatment systems.
Remember that without a built-in milk frother you will have to froth the milk by hand and that may cause problems.
However a reliable and well maintained bean to cup machine should give many years of profitable service and provide excellent quality delicious drinks to your customers.
