When you are dealing with a drink like coffee, one of the great advantages is that is such an old an time honored drink that thousands of recipes are available for it. You can make many of them with a cappuccino machine.
You can try Caribbean coffee, Mexican mocha, Cuban cubano, and grog, or  Viennese, Turkish and Vietnamese coffees. There are all delicious.

For Caribbean mocha, bake a coconut for 30 minutes at 300 degrees F )134C). Once it is cool, crack it open and scrape out the coconut meat. Grind it well and mix it with a half cup milk and heat it on top of the stove until the mixture thickens. Strain to remove the particles of coconut and add to your coffee to make an exquisite blend.

A mocha drink  is a blend of coffee and chocolate, a perfect pairing. For Mexican mocha, add a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg to a teaspoon of chocolate syrup. Blend well and pour into your coffee and add sugar. For an special treat, you can blend in whipped cream, or dolop it on top.

A Cubano is a strong coffee, a small cupful drunk straight and hot, swigged back like a drink at a bar.  A shot of Cubano may be too much for a gringo, so milk or rum is often added.

The traditional English treat of grog is usually served at Christmas. Orange and lemon peel are placed in the bottom of a cup. Butter (1/3 tbsp.), brown sugar (1 tbsp.), and a pinch each of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon are heated together. The coffee is poured into the cup and the spice mixture added, along with sugar and cream to taste. What a feast for a holiday or anytime!

For Viennese coffee, dark chocolate is melted with light cream and coffee whipped in until a froth is achieved.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and slivered cocoa, and you will suddenly be hearing Mozart.

Turkish is the oldest coffee and, like many old things, the simplest. If you want to be a purist, you will need a "dzezva" pot. Boil a cup of water and add sugar; remove from heat and add coffee. Put back over heat and boil once again. This boiling makes for a strong cup of coffee! When a froth forms, let cool, remove the froth and enjoy.
A specialty drink of Vietnam of iced Vietnamese coffee. You will need a Vietnamese coffee press, but once you have one, the process is easy.  Place your coffee grounds in the press, pour a tablespoon in the bottom of a cup, pour water over the press, let drip and add ice. Simple and delicious.

Take a culinary tour of the world through these great coffee traditions and recipes and enjoy coffee at its very best.

When it comes to making a really great tasting cup of coffee for yourself or for friends then it is worth considering investing some money in a good quality French Press Coffee Pot. Not only can you make a great tasting coffee quickly but unlike espresso or cappuccino machines making a brew can be done very easily.

However it is important that when making a brew using your coffee pot you ensure that you do things correctly. If you don't then the chances of each cup of coffee tasting as good as the first is reduced. Below we offer a few tips that you may find useful to make great tasting coffee time and time again with a French Press Coffee Pot.

Tip 1 - Only every use coarsely ground coffee. The problem with finely ground coffee is that it can cause the filter in your pot to become clogged along with some of them passing through it into the brewed liquid. So you end up drinking some sediment which will cause the drink to have a bitter after taste. Although you can purchase coarsely ground coffee it is much better if you grind your own as this will ensure that the taste of the coffee is much fresher.

Tip 2 - For each 4 ounces of coffee (one mug) that you intend to brew in your coffee pot add one large tablespoon of coarsely ground coffee to it. As you measure each spoonful of coffee grounds out make sure that you pour them directly into the base of the French Press coffee pot. This will help to ensure that the plunger and filter will press down and keep them from getting into the liquid above as you press it down.

Tip 3 - Finally following the adding of the water stir them together then allow to stand for around 4 minutes. This will give the liquid plenty of time to extract the essential oils from the beans giving the brewer a much richer and fuller flavour.

Coffee – How to Brew a Great Coffee Machine Cup

Brewing a great cup of coffee with a basic coffee machine is possible. You don't need a thousand dollar espresso master to be an at-home barista. However, brewing a tasty coffee takes work and preparation. To learn more about how to brew a great machine cup of coffee, keep reading.

Clean Machine

Start your brewing process by making sure your machine is clean. You should be cleaning out your coffee pot with soap and water after every use and making sure that you rinse it out well. You don't want to leave behind any used coffee grounds or the bitter taste of previously brewed coffee on the inside the machine.

Ideally, your pot should be thoroughly clean and decalcified or descaled at least once a month. To do this, you can use a mild solution of lemon and water or a specific descaling product designed for coffee machines.

Clean Tools

Next, make sure your coffee preparation tools are also clean. This includes your reusable filter container and coffee spoon. Most coffee brewers use the same coffee spoon over and over, going as far as to store the scoop inside the coffee container. However, the metal or plastic from your scoop can react with the coffee and affect its natural flavor, so avoid doing this. Instead, store it in a clean area perhaps with or near your other silverware.

Filtered Water

Try using filtered or pure water the next time you brew a pot of coffee and note the difference when compared to tap water. By removing sediment, minerals and other taste-affecting particles, you can ensure the pure water you'll be using won't affect the taste of your brew.

Many coffee machines come with water filters. If yours includes a filter, remember to clean it and replace it on a regular basis to avoid build-up or calcification.

Additionally, some people also love the clean taste of distilled water, using their own countertop water distiller. Using home distilled water can significantly improve the taste of coffee.

Properly Stored Coffee

Coffee should be stored in a dark place at room or refrigerator temperature. Freezing your coffee may make it last longer, but it can also negatively affect the taste.

So, instead of buying your coffee in bulk and freezing it, buy freshly roasted coffee and use it within the week. Find a local roaster in your area and go directly to the source for that truly fresh taste.

Freshly Ground

Ideally, you should be buying whole ground coffee and grinding your coffee beans immediately before you start brewing. This will lock in freshness and keep your coffee from going stale.

When grinding, remember that how fine you grind the coffee will affect the taste. If coffee is too finely ground, it will taste bitter, but if it's not ground enough, it will taste flat.

Good Measurements

A good measurement ratio is 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every six ounces of water. Using much more than that will give the coffee a taste that is too strong for most.

I have some great frozen coffee recipes?

I have seen a lot of people asking for frozen coffee recipes and I have an easy one. I have a smoothie maker that I use to make the frozen coffee b/c it makes it more slush-like. Just put room temp. coffee into blender/smoothie maker add reg. cream (until its the color you like) and some hazelnut (enough that you can really smell the hazelnut) then add ice to the top of the coffee line, next pour chocolate syrup on the ice and blend until you don't hear the ice crackling when the blender is on. Pour into cup, top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. A spalsh of bailys is good in it as well. Then enjoy!
This recipe can be done with other flavored creams as well but the hazelnut gives it the flavor of starbucks (dunkin donuts, tim hortons etc.) Adding regular cream as well as the hazelnut makes it very creamy and you can use fat free creams. Also, you can make this with the fat free sugar free flavored coffees and omit the cream all together.

"I'm searching for a really great cup of coffee -- what variety should I buy?"

I've been asked this question many times over the years and I always provide the same answer -- "That depends!" Early coffee drinkers used to choose their coffee for the caffeine jolt it provided. But times have changed, and in today's world, when choosing a great coffee -- it's all about the taste, and the taste depends on many things.

The taste of a great coffee depends on the climate, soil and cultivation methods involved in the beans' production. Coffee beans contain hundreds of compounds that give them their flavor and aroma. The type of coffee bean you choose, arabica or robusta makes a huge difference in coffee quality and taste. Arabica beans are of a much higher-quality compared to robusta beans, which are normally used as filler for most lower-end coffees. The roasting and brewing process used on the beans can also greatly affect the taste. All of these factors, together, have an enormous impact on coffee taste and quality, and as a result, they do determine whether the coffee is really great or not.

But, I also think that when it comes right down to it, the most important factor that ultimately determines whether a coffee is really great or not is whether you the consumer like it. Not everyone prefers the same characteristics in a coffee; some prefer it light and mellow, while others prefer it heavy and full-bodied. So when asking what variety to buy in order to get a really great cup of coffee, you really have to look at your own personal likes and dislikes in a cup of joe.

Most people, when choosing their cup of preference, weigh the quality of a coffee by its aroma, acidity, flavor and body.

1. The aroma of a coffee is basically one's first impression or "sniff" as the gases released from the brew hit your nose. Words like "earthy," "fruity" and "herby" can be used to describe a coffee's aroma.

2. The acidity of a coffee is the "pleasant sharpness" you taste when you take a gulp (or a sip). Acidity is good in a coffee, in that if it had no acidity, the coffee would taste flat. A low acidity coffee is a pleasant-tasting, mellow coffee, whereas a high acidity coffee is very robust and knocks your socks off!

3. The flavor factor of a coffee is the perception in your mouth of those hundreds of aromatic elements or compounds of the coffee bean. It also refers to any specific taste you notice in the coffee, such as a "nuttiness" or "spiciness."

4. Finally, the body of a coffee is the impression of weight and texture that the coffee leaves in your mouth. This is known as "mouthfeel" and can often be described as "heavy," "watery" or "light."

Coffee comes from three main growing regions of the world: the Americas, Africa, and Asia/Pacific. Each region instills its own distinct characteristics into its coffee. So keeping in mind the four cup characteristics described above, and your own personal likes and dislikes, you can narrow down your search by having a look at some of the characteristics each coffee variety/region has to offer.

The Americas

Brazil -- smooth, sweet and spicy with hints of allspice and cloves. Complex aroma, mild acidity, medium body. Look for Santos coffees, with Bourbon Santos being the best.
Colombia -- rich, full aroma, mild with good acidity, sweet caramelly taste, medium body. Look for Excelso and Supremo grades.
Costa Rica -- the SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) grade has a good aroma, high acidity, and a fine body. The GHB (Good Hard Bean) grade has a good aroma, very good acidity and a good body. Both provide a sweet, smooth cup. Look for Tarrazu.
Guatemala -- aromatic, a soft mild flavor with a subtle smokiness, heavy body.
Haiti -- very mellow and flavorful with a mild sweetness, heavy body.
Hawaii -- the famous Kona coffee has a splendid aroma and is rich with a mellow character. Very flavorful with a hint of cinnamon and cloves, full-bodied.
Jamaica -- Blue Mountain being the best, it has a delightful aroma, is extremely mellow and sweet-tasting with a full body. High Mountain Supreme comes in second with a medium to sharp acidity and a good body.
Mexico -- wonderful aroma, sweet, medium acidity, hints of hazelnuts in the flavor, smooth body.
Nicaragua -- good acidity and mild flavor with a hint of cognac. Look for Matagalpa.
Panama -- smooth and sweet, good acidity and mild flavor with a heavy body.
Peru -- good acidity with a mild flavor and excellent body.
Venezuela -- great aroma, smooth and mellow with low acidity, rich and delicately winey, a little on the sweet side, light body.

Africa

Burundi -- high acidity with a rich strong flavor and good body.
Ethiopia -- amazing aroma of cinnamon, strawberries and fresh-mown grass, very acidic, winey, pungent, earthy flavors, spicy and complex, full-bodied. Look for Harrar - Longberry and Shortberry, and Yirgacheffe.
Kenya -- Very fragrant and floral, sometimes winey, a mild coffee with a delicate acid flavor, and a great smoothness.
Rwanda -- high acidity, strong flavor and good body.
Tanzania -- rich and mellow with a delicate acidity. Look for peaberry varieties.
Zaire -- rich, highly acidic, excellent flavor and body. Look for Kivu.

Asia/Pacific

India -- spicy aroma with hints of cinnamon and cedar, delicate acidity, complex and very rich, full-bodied. Look for Nilgiris and Monsoon Malabar.
Indonesia -- rich with low acidity, spicy, strong flavor, heavy body - almost syrupy. Look for Sumatra, Celebes or Sulawesi.
Papua New Guinea -- sweet and full-bodied. Look for Sigri and Koban.
Yemen -- age old Mocha coffee - uniquely smooth and complex with a bit of sharpness, tremendous flavor, can be winey with cherry notes, heavy body. Look for Mattari or Sunani.

Once you have narrowed down your selection to a choice few, try to purchase some sample sizes and start slurping! You may discover you really enjoy one particular variety, or several different ones. Nothing wrong with having more than one favorite! Nonetheless, once you've found your favorite beans, always purchase them freshly roasted, and make sure to store them properly to maintain their freshness for as long as possible. Even a really great cup of coffee can turn into a dud if the beans were roasted ages ago, or left out to go stale.

Cappuccino coffee, which originated in Italy, can now be enjoyed by anybody, not just Italians. People all over the globe now enjoy sipping this exciting beverage. The main ingredient is espresso and it is prepared with hot milk. Cappuccino is typically served in a porcelain cup because porcelain has much higher heat retention capabilities in comparison to glass and paper cups. Good cappuccino has a foamy head and this creamy top also helps to keep your drink warmer for longer.

Besides espresso being the most important component of a great cup of cappuccino coffee, the temperature and texture of the milk contributes a great deal to mix. While preparing the cappuccino the milk is added to the espresso. The milk should be warm and frothed to make it foamy. Different cappuccino varieties can be made using different thickness of milk. These varieties have names like white cappuccino, cappuccino scuro and dark cappuccino. So you can see that the milk is an important consideration.

Because the milk has to be prepared in a very specific way, making a really good cup of cappuccino can be tricky. An experienced barista can make some interesting blends by the way he adds the milk to the espresso coffee.

In Italy, and the rest of western Europe, cappuccino coffee used to be a traditional part of breakfast in the morning, enjoyed with some pastries. In the past few years though, things have changed and you can see people having their cappuccino drinks at any time of the day. Coffee shops and cafes are popular gathering places for friends and even business people, and for people after dinner.

Lately it is even possible to make your own espresso and cappuccino at home by buying a home espresso maker. Grinders, espresso machines, milk frothers at all price points are available to the cappuccino enthusiast.

The world of coffee, as you will see, consist of a huge marketplace where your choices are virtually unlimited. As cappuccino can be prepared in a variety of ways, the equipment you choose to get should suit your taste in espresso. For example, a milk frother is essential for a cafe au lait blend.

The art of making cappuccino coffee is truly an art.
